Highly Efficient Coal

The member cooperatives of Corn Belt Power Cooperative know that highly efficient coal plants are neecessary to meet our growing demand for energy.

We also know we are responsible for keeping our environment clean for future generations.

That's why the new coal plants wer're adding to our system feature state-of-the-art environmental control technology and produce fewer emissions than any coal plant in Iowa.

Renewable Energy

The member cooperatives of Corn Belt Power Cooperative know the importance of renewable energy in today's changing world.

We use wind energy and hydropower to generate electricity - providing clean, renewable sources of power to meet Iowa's growing demand for energy.

Corn Belt Power Cooperative has announced it will purchase another 50 megawatts of Iowa-based wind power to add to its generation portfolio.

Energy Efficiency

Families today depend on economical, reliable energy more than ever before.  We are seeing the demand for electricity grow everyday.

The member cooperatives of Corn Belt Power Cooperative know that each of us must use energy wisely by installing compact fluorescent light bulbs, weatherizing our homes and using energy-efficient appliances.

Energy efficiency is important for our children's future.

Corn Belt Power Cooperative is a wholesale power supplier owned by your Touchstone Energy Cooperative.  Corn Belt Power Cooperataive generates and delivers electricity to 11 member cooperatives and one municipal electric cooperative.  Calhoun County REC is one of the 11 member cooperatives of Corn Belt Power Cooperative.
