Calhoun County REC plans to award up to three $500 college scholarships in the spring of 2017.

To be eligible, a student must be a graduating high school senior and a dependent of a Calhoun county REC member.
Applicants must be planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited, two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school in the fall of 2017. The scholarship must be used for educational costs, and the student must enter college in the school year for which the scholarship is given.
Award will be based on the following criteria: complete application, one letter of reference from a teacher or counselor. A completed 250 word essay describing How can cooperative members make a difference regarding political decisions that directly affect does Calhoun County REC and its membership?

Calhoun County REC is a member-owned electric utility serving homes, farms and businesses in Pocahontas, Calhoun, Sac, Greene and Webster counties. In addition, the cooperative provides power to the communities of Callender and Farnhamville.
