Calhoun County Electric Cooperative Association (CCECA) Administrative Assistant/Communications Specialist Menley Hildreth recently had the opportunity to attend the New Cooperative Communicators Orientation hosted by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).

The training is designed to provide cooperative communicators with a stronger understanding of the electric cooperative network and the important role communication plays in connecting cooperatives with their member-owners. Throughout the orientation, attendees gained valuable knowledge, and resources to help them effectively share their cooperative’s story, communicate important information, and strengthen engagement with the communities they serve.

Opportunities like this training are a direct example of Cooperative Principle #5: Education, Training, and Information. This principle emphasises the importance of providing education and training for cooperative employees, directors, and members so they can contribute effectively to the development and success of their cooperative.

By investing in professional development opportunities, CCECA continues to strengthen the knowledge and skills of its employees while bringing new ideas and resources back to the cooperative. The knowledge gained through the New Cooperative Communicators Orientation will help support CCECA’s ongoing efforts to provide clear, meaningful, and engaging communication to its member-owners.

CCECA is proud to put the cooperative principles into action and recognizes that investing in employee education and training ultimately strengthens the cooperative and its ability to serve its members and communities.
